Our army of Vigilantes have been active, protecting the NFT space from scams and vulnerabilities. And now we have a new tool.
How it works
Simple. These Vigilante Recon NFTs update every time they are viewed by mapping the location of the viewer.
Notes
- If you wish to remain anonymous while viewing this NFT, use a VPN.
- There will be a slight delay in the map updating and loading times may be longer than normal.
- Most NFT marketplaces as of today, will allow these to be viewed. We can’t guarantee that this will stay that way.

- Snapshot Date: 6/21 at 12pm PT
- Mint Date: 6/22 (around 8am PT)
- Mint limit is based on a quadratic function and increases with the # of Vigilante NFTs and bounties performed
Why We’re Releasing Another NFT
Occasionally our research turns into insights and we use it to produce protocols and projects. Other times, we use those insights to add value to our community.
We previously highlighted that NFTs can be used to track IP addresses and were featured in Vice and Cointelegraph. This NFT takes that research and turns it into a cutting edge implementation of NFT technology with the benefits going to our community. It also raises awareness on this capability. Props to Looksrare for actively flagging this.
The Honest Protocol will be able to flag items with centralized dependencies. This includes NFTs which could be used to track your IP address as well as NFTs that store metadata in a centralized data center as opposed to on IPFS or Arweave.
We look to do more of this in the future. Stay tuned.

The only active way to be eligible to mint a Vigilante Recon NFT is to mint a Vigilante NFT. You have until the snapshot on 6/21 at 12pm PT to obtain Vigilante NFTs (minting or secondary purchases both count) if you wish to be included in the Vigilante Recon NFT mint.
