In our previous and introductory article we covered a vast number of topics w.r.t to gaming. We explained our views about how we see things unfolding for the web3gaming industry in the near future & the massive room for growth that it has which will be coming from the transition of web2 gamers to web3 gaming.
Gaming (In specific web2 gaming) as a whole has come a long way from desktop games like solitaire, minesweeper and pinball. The ease of access for entertainment has shifted from PC to mobile. With change in preferences there have been subtle changes in the type of games being offered. Many game developers have for this very reason changed their design/strategy from making PC dedicated games to making “mobile only” games over the years. These changes might look miniscule today but they’ve proved to be like a gold mine for game developers via in-app purchases for mobile games and sales revenue for console games & with these huge revenues developers have been able to develop better games, with better UI and have hence onboarded millions of users worldwide in last two decades.
From evolution of web2 gaming to renaissance of web3 gaming, the end user experience has morphed (slowly but steadily) from play-to-experience to play-to-earn model. We at convival believe that this trend will continue to evolve further as we move ahead in this technologically savvy world.

What is Convival?
The literal meaning of the word convival is to have a feast or festivity, a gathering of people where they come as a family and celebrate.

With the same ethos in heart, we at Convival are creating a platform that (in layman terms) enables traditional Gamers to take a leap of faith from Web2 world to Web3 world. Just as movement to Web2 world created, amplified and unlocked value for not only the users but everyone we believe this walk to Web3 will create unimaginable value for the world.
What Are The Challenges That Plague Web3gaming Industry?
The plethora of problems associated with Web3 gaming are quite filled to the brim. While millions of users are actively participating in Web3 games, its underlying problems are undeniable and quite inevitable.
Currently, the major challenges web3gaming space face are 3 pronged.
• Gamers Liquidity — At present, the most significant yet underestimated challenge that the industry faces is lack of gamers itself. Various reasons contribute to this problem ranging from lack of easy to use UI & complexities of web3 to poor outreach to gamers from web 2.0 . Some might argue against it but the fact is that still a large number of audiences love to Play games the traditional way i.e. on consoles (PS or Xbox) or on mobile phones without the need to move to new frontiers like web3gaming. The incentives & motivation are too small for people to change their preferences, which mostly are to have a joyful time while avoiding any kind of mental hustle.
However, It is not just a ‘Web3 gaming’ problem but a Web3 problem. New users find the entire ecosystem, including the applications and the community to be overwhelming.
- Limited Monetization Opportunities — In their current form, most of the games that are working to build an ecosystem lack clarity on providing an economically sustainable model for its users. On the face of it, play-2-earn (P2E) gamers now have a solid way to monetize their time. However, the mechanics of most P2E games aren’t very well thought out that would make Web3 adoption a little problematic. In the present spectrum of time, P2E gaming is more of an ‘invest and earn’ thing than an ‘earn’ thing. Players have to buy or rent an NFT, and they can earn good money only if the other players also spend enough money. NFTs, by design are unique, and hence not fit for high volume and high-frequency trading. Their unique design further mandates them to be listed individually on a marketplace — a very time-consuming process that leads to a lack of liquidity that can make trading very frustrating and tiresome. Hence, this model is a little too far from being sustainable as the players’ earnings are impacted by the number of new users entering the ecosystem and market fluctuations.
- Fragmented Gaming Ecosystem — Throughout the web3 gaming space if there’s one obvious trait for multiple projects is the fact that most focus on too many things at same time; moreover while they build a user appealing app/product the most overlooked factor is the ease of access. Most projects have a UI that’s not very user friendly because of the web3 element in the game. If there are multiple features in a game most times they’re distributed and have to be accessed separately. For example, if you have a game that consists of various components in its ecosystem like DAO, chatroom, in-app purchase items to name a few. Usually these features have to be accessed on not a single but multiple user interfaces, which in return proves to be a major deterrent.
How Does Convival Work To Solve These Problems?
The next & the most obvious question that comes to our mind after “what” is “how”. Convival is offering a solution to each of these problems, Let us go through them step-by-step.
• Gamer’s Liquidity — To simplify this complex issue we have taken lot of initiatives. The games that we offer are easy to play/interact with and are on a single platform to satisfy all our needs. To onboard users from web2.0 to web3.0 we have made our UI very user friendly avoiding all the complexities of blockchain. With this approach an average Joe can simply join the platform ,log in & start their journey in few simple steps. Convival studio games are free to play & provide an economic incentive to its users with a Play to Earn model. Another problem that we addressed is of crypto trade of in game currency, as most web 2.0 users are unfamiliar with cryptocurrencies, we have made(after careful considerations) the decision to provide on ramp and off ramp solutions like India’s UPI Payments system. In addition to it we will also enable Credit & Debit card payments for crypto purchases on our platform. Enabling bank payments will give users enormous confidence in the credibility of the ecosystem and fast payments via service providers like UPI will ensure a smooth experience for the community.
• Limited Monetization Opportunities — In addition to generic Play-to-earn model for the end user, we’ve worked on various revenue streams like streaming the game (Watch-to-earn),In App Advertisements and partnering with other P2E games among others. Since our games will be a free to play on a decentralized platform the revenue will be shared among the users of the Convival studio.
• Fragmented Gaming Ecosystem — An overlooked problem with a lot of projects and seldom solved. The web 3.0 element of our games and ecosystem will be concentrated in one specific place. This is an approach that we’re taking by learning from other’s mistakes in the industry, instead of keeping all the services and features of our ecosystem on separate domains we will be keeping everything on a single platform that is user friendly. Concentration of all the services will ensure ease of navigation through the ecosystem & in turn will reduce the lag time.
What Are Salient Features Of Convival Studio ?

- Convival Fi (DAO)
A decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) is an entity with no central leadership. Decisions get made from the bottom-up, governed by a community organised around a specific set of rules enforced on a blockchain.
- Convival DAO operates using smart contracts, which are essentially chunks of code that automatically execute whenever a set of criteria are met. Smart contracts are deployed on numerous blockchains nowadays, though Ethereum was the first to use them.
- Convival DAO is fully autonomous and transparent. As they are built on open-source blockchain, anyone can view their code. Anyone can also audit their built-in treasuries, as the blockchain records all financial transactions.
- Users can participate in Convival DAO voting with their gCVL tokens.
- Voting process will be conducted via a service called Snapshot.
- Convival will create their own space in Snapshot, so users can join it.
- To vote via Snapshot users have to connect the wallet where they store their gCVL tokens.
- Users can propose their pools to vote for. To make a proposal the user needs to have more than N amount of gCVL.
As part of managing our finances and maintaining a sustainable ecosystem we will be keeping a major chunk of our token supply for ecosystem participants. These tokens will be distributed as rewards. Here’s a brief description of the reward mechanism will work :
➡️As a reward for participating in platform farming, the user will get CVL tokens.
➡️Each active pool in the protocol has a Pending Rewards Card. The Pending Rewards Card shows users the amount of Pending Rewards the connected wallet has accrued for the related pool. It lists the pool’s name and the amount of CVL tokens available as rewards.
➡️Users click the Claim reward button to claim their profit.
➡️Yield rewards are subject to a time specific vesting period before they can be withdrawn.

Convival Royale is one of the first Tower Defense Web 3.0 Play-To-Earn (P2E) games of its kind globally. It will feature Clash Royale inspired multiplayer gameplay with key Web 3.0 adoptions like NFT and Metaverse elements set in a sci-fi world where robots of different types are being used for sport & allied activities.
