Content emotions

Found this article on Hacker News, about how the new york times keeps tragedies ad-free. I’m assuming this is a business decision, but still this is a human move, even if the motivation behind it isn’t “pure”.

Made me think that we have the ability to find related articles (it’s still quite poor), but can we link content based on emotion? Think of a YouTube playlist combined only of funny/sad/happy videos curated by an algo.

Not sure, but I’m assuming there’s such a system that I’m not aware of.

The underline of this is that when surfing the web content recommendation providers/websites will be able to know what mood we’re in. Is this behind the creepy line? Not sure.
