What’s the difference between moving blankets and regular blankets?

How are moving Blankets different from each other? How do you choose between all the websites and blankets that are out there?

First of all, ignore the name of the blanket. Different sellers call the same type of blanket Economy, Deluxe, or even Premium. When you’re looking for moving blankets, the name doesn’t matter.

Moving Blankets

You should look for three main things in a moving blanket:

  1. Outer fabric
  2. The thickness or amount of filler (this is usually how much the blanket weighs),
  3. Binding material.

There are other things to think about, too, like size and color, but those are pretty clear.

The fabric on the outside can:

Nonwoven fabric Which is very nice and soft. It’s good for moving something once or twice, but it’s not very strong and tears easily. Most blankets with this kind of outer fabric don’t have a lot of filling. They work well for you if you need to store your furniture or use it to ship a container overseas.

Polyester or Terylene (which is the same thing). This fabric is the most common. It’s cheap, soft, flexible, and lasts a long time. Blankets made from this fabric can be used for any kind of movement. They can be washed in a washing machine or dried quickly with a garden hose.

What Kind of Fiber Polyester Is

  1. Strong
  2. Able to stretch and shrink without breaking
  3. Can’t be hurt by most chemicals
  4. Dries quickly
  5. Firm and crisp, whether wet or dry
  6. Wrinkle resistant
  7. Can’t grow mildew
  8. Abrasion-resistant
  9. Keeps the folds and pleats set with heat
  10. Easy to clean
  11. Polyester can catch on fire, but because it is thermoplastic, it tends to shrink away from the flame and often puts itself out on its own.

General Polyester Fiber Care Tips

* Most things made of polyester can be washed and dried in a machine. Use warm water and a fabric softener in the final rinse cycle. Dry items in a low-heat dryer and take them out as soon as the tumbling cycle is over.

*If you want to iron, use a medium-warm iron.

* Most polyester clothes can be dry-cleaned. (The care label sewn into the garment will give you specific instructions.)

Cotton. Because they are made of cotton, cotton blankets aren’t cheap. The cotton outer fabric of the moving blankets is better than polyester because it doesn’t “slip” and isn’t as “shiny” as polyester. This is important to many people. It can be washed in a hotter machine, but it will take longer to dry.

Cotton/Polyester Mix: Most of the time, this is a mix of 20% cotton and 80% polyester. Filler. The filler for all moving blankets is the same: “recycled cotton,” which usually has other synthetic fibers mixed in with it. The weight of the blanket can tell you how much filler or thickness it has, which is very important. Most of the time, the weight of a blanket is given in pounds per blanket. Some sellers may list it as “Filler/per yard,” but if you look further down in the product description, you’ll see “Weight per blanket in Lbs.” Filler per Yard is confusing for customers because it doesn’t match the weight per blanket that the same site shows for the same blanket.

In order to save space when shipping, blankets are rolled up tight and tied together. When you take them out, they might look thin. Just give them a good shake and use them more than once. The air will be sucked into the filler, making the blanket fluffier. If you want to hang the blanket on the wall to block out noise, you should “rough them up” a bit first.

Binding Material. Binding can be done with any kind of material, but the non-woven fabric is most often used because it is the cheapest. It works fine for most things, but if you want to wash and dry blankets at high temperatures, the binding might melt. So be careful!

We also do things like add grommets to your blankets, make special covers, and make blankets for the movie and music industries that are made just for them, among other things. Send an email to info@CoolOcean123.com to place an order and visit our website: coolocean123.com
