August 12, 1887: Born in Vienna.

1910: Completed doctoral studies at the University of Vienna.

1914–1918: Served as an artillery officer in the Austrian army during World War I.

1921: Appointed as a professor of theoretical physics in Zurich.

1926: Formulated the Schrödinger equation, laying the foundation for wave mechanics.

1927: Moved to Berlin, succeeding Max Planck.

1933: Left Nazi Germany and relocated to Oxford. Shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Paul Dirac.

1935: Published the article ‘Die gegenwärtige Situation in der Quantenmechanik,’ describing Schrödinger’s cat paradox.

1939: Became the Head of Theoretical Physics at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Dublin.

1944: Cambridge University Press published ‘What is Life?’

1956: Retired in Dublin and returned to Vienna.

January 4, 1961: Passed away in Vienna.
