The Coming Collapse of Afghanistan
War Is Boring

Nation building is the business of Empires…a venture which takes decades of dead soldiers on the other side of the world, held together by the long-view of national strategy. The United States cannot currently do this as we are an Empire of influence, untooled for the rigors of successful Imperialism and weary of the social costs of the forever wars.

We could be successful at this. But do we want to? Is it worth it? How would it change our society? Are we already adapting towards this end? We are getting used to the GWOT as an ever present attriting necesity.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
