I assume you mean Russia when you say “enemy” although perhaps you meant Hong Kong aka China.

  1. Russia is currently the closest thing we have to an enemy. (not counting the North Korean clown government) From a national security and intelligence perspective, Russia is an opponent if not an enemy. Of course, politically, officially, that isn’t the case.
  2. Of course we blocked him wherever we could. You make it sound like we left him no other choice but to be harbored by our enemy. Rather, he planned poorly, planned on never having to sit in a US courtroom, and always had Russia as a backup plan. That’s terribly self-serving for a selfless whistle blowing patriot.
