End of Another Year

This is always a time of reflection

The beginning of holiday break is always a great time for me to reflect on the year I had and put together a sort of list for what I would like to do more of and/or less of for the next year. This past year brought on a lot of changes both personally and professionally which resulted in some of the biggest life changes I’ve had in years. If I had to sum up 2013 in two words I would say: major changes.

Within the last few years, I have always been somewhat reluctant to starting out new ideas and tasks. I think what separates most people is the idea of putting effort behind the ideas you want to execute on. For the last two years, I have wanted to hold a hackathon. It was really something that interested me because it involved building a community. So this past year I put together both a monthly music hackathon series called, Music Hack LA, and my own version of a music industry startup hackathon called, Music Startup Beta. Both went extremely well and I really can’t describe the feeling of seeing one of your ideas coming to fruition.

For 2014, my colleagues and myself have many activities planned. I can’t wait to put them together and get real feedback on them.
