I’m Building A Dancing Robot
Using an assortment of objects.
Lately I have had a somewhat healthy obsession with Raspberry Pi (it’s a new relationship). The possibilities for putting together a hack for a piece of hardware instead of support for a marketing initiative is really appealing. Culminating many areas of technology I am extremely passionate about, I put together the plan for my first project with my Raspberry Pi: a dancing motorcycle robot.
The first thing I bought to complete the build for the motorcycle was:
- An Erector set to build the frame for the motorcycle and robot. (This is the one I ordered on Amazon for $20: http://amzn.to/17qKXWO)
Beyond selecting a basic Erector set, I wanted to find a kit where I could make a lot of varied devices that could be propelled forward or backward in a basic manner.
The motorcycle I found within the instruction booklet is what caught my attention. I can set up the Raspberry Pi on the top of it so the motion is easy and it will be fun to have music playing to dictate the movement.
