Me, Myself and my Plans

It seems I haven’t blogged or even posted much online in a long time, while this is due to being rather busy as of late and having little motivation, it is also spurred by the variety of exciting things I’ve been doing as of late.

My University term finished in June, but I’ve still been involved in some work experience and spending time working on the University magazine, Flex, that is due to print before this years Freshers. Doing all this and working at Asda part time has made it partially impossible for me to find time to write anything worth while.

Earlier in the year I was evidently concerned with University work, which paid off. I recieved a First overall for the year which I am personally proud of, getting five First’s and a 2:1 in only one of six modules. I also had work experience at Future publishings Gamemaster and SFX which was a great learning curve and resulted in various pieces being published.

With that in mind, there is much I am looking forward to and will hopefully be writing a lot more. I’m trying to do as much as I can for the University magazine and working on this alongside my dissertation/negotiated portfolio will be difficult, but worth it. SFX have also agreed to take me on for more work experience later in the year/next year, so I’m trying to get a foot in the door at Future.

I have no idea where next year will be taking me but hopefully, if all goes to plan I will find myself working at a magazine while living in Bristol. Obviously this is all a pipe dream, but my somewhat hard work and lacking personal work is an indication that I am trying to move in the right direction.

The Greatest Movies Never Made project did sadly finish, but secured me a First for that module and I almost won an award for it. I may return to it one day, but not yet.

Overall I hope anyone who actually reads my stuff isn’t concerned that I am not writing enough because I am actually (very lazily) working on things. So just keep on eye out and also purchas the SFX issue out later this month (August) as I will be in it.
