In Dr. Ryan Milner’s presentations the other day, the topic of remixing of came in to discussion, particularly on the topic of memes. This remixing has been going on for hundreds of years, like in the printing press, but through new technologies like the introduction of photoshop or meme generator websites, memes can be produced at a more alarming rate than ever. Themes of Tools, Place and a Way of being have contributed to the widespread of meme remixes, as they have now created a community for sharing these remixes. As he pointed out, memes have begun to become part of something we make our own, and identify with, which isnt a new thing, but it is new how we are able to produce them.

1. I made the style choices I did because i feel as though its a clean and organized format for displaying information, but also adds in little pops of creativity and personality into the document. Color and font wise I wanted something that wasn't going to kill you to look at but also not bland enough that it would hide among other resumes, and I felt orange was a very non abrasive color to choose.

2. I feel as though this style of resume is a better choice for me as I hope at pursuing some sort of job in the creative/technology field. so combining the two seems really useful to me and would help my personality shine out to people looking for new hires.

Here is the Piktochart that describes the research that Brian and myself did.

All this mood swinging music has got me caught between being a zany high school kid in the 90s, and a werid emo kid who hates his parents cuz they dont understand my new dark side. Hope this show isnt about all the goth kids that didnt fit in at school so they make up a club to fight vampires, and actually turn out to be right for once.

All this drama surroundings Buffy, sounding like she was suppose to star in Mean Girls instead of her own TV show. Reminds me of the good ole days in high school of me sitting in the back of the room trying to make friends with all the popular kids. But for her, its her first day and they are already telling her how to act like an episode of What Not to Wear. Glad i just have to deal with break outs and sports and not make up and clothes.

All these dead bodies already and creepy librarians seem to be a usual at this high school (hes definitely not a vampire by the way). But the slice of life drama seems to be really contrasted with a hard drastic switch to advanced Vampire drama. Still kinda wondering if this is all a coincidence or if everyone in this school is oblivious to the fact that someone just died in their school. Definitely would be getting off school for a week if that stuff happened at my school.

Wait… the librarian isnt a Vampire. He just called her a slayer, so like. does that mean hes on the same team as she is. Also im pretty oblivious to all the stuff about being a slayer. So apparently this girl is pretty bad ass and already killed enough vampires get a gold watch and cash in on her retirement check. Kinda excited to catch this girl in action. #bringbuffyoutofretirement

Dont these people know not to go out at night when there was some kid just killed by a vampire at your HIGH SCHOOL! And now this guy is trying to team up with her so they can go Vampire killing together, sounding like hes about to suck her blood out next chance he gets. HES NOT YOUR FRIEND BUFFY!! HES THE MAIN VAMPIRE, also that guy from Criminal minds or Bones or one of those random tv shows where you find killers. YOU KNOW HES A BAD GUY…dont let his devilish good looks get the best of you Buffy.

Overall I kind of enjoyed live blogging. It added a new aspect to watching a show that Ive never experimented with before. Ive tried to live tweet but never think of enough funny or quirky things to say, and the timing of it is so important and I always am late posting about it. But in blogging I cant create a more concise and well thought out idea about what Im actually watching in the show. The only thing I was struggling with was actually watching the show versus looking over and typing up a response of what I just saw. At first got it confused with life tweeting but got more settled down and brought it all to life. But overall had a fun experience and can see why so many people would do this if they got good enough at it. Definitely has an art form to it.

Key elements to the of the article I would hyperlink include sections of descriptions of the events explained to us through the eyes of a former seal. Making the real world interaction between the text and the situation happening more observable. Pictures of the man saying the recounts or even screenshots of the type of things he encountered to serve as a visual aid would really help in moving this article along.

What I would do then is to try and separate the text as much as possible, to make it more appealing to the viewer, instead of the wall of text we are confronted with. sections regarding the actual incident of the killing would be brought to the attention of readers as main purpose of the article. Instead of going through a wall of text to find the actual happenings, moving it to a central position in the article would help greatly. …

A website I go to a lot is Reddit. I like this website because you have a lot of information at your fingertips and can discover new things everyday, while also getting to interact with people online who like similar stuff to you.

This website particularly uses an specific voice as its platform not used by many other websites on the internet. Its layout may be at first very intimidating and hard to understand, but after enough exposer to the site, its layout plays into its information driven services. …

ASMR stands for Autonomous sensory meridian response, and is a type of video sensory experience which creates an overall feeling of good vibes experienced by the user. People describe this experience as a type of euphoric pleasure which creates a feeling of relaxation due to the expose of ASMR. ASMR has been made more available to the public through the usage of internet platforms over the past couple of years. This however was not invented on the internet, but has definitely been used as a catalyst to find others among this new community with the addition of digital technology platforms like YouTube.

In a New York Times Article titles “Japans New Satellite Captures an Image of Earth Every 10 Minutes”, the implementation of continuously moving pictures of Earth immediately capture a readers attention. With no more than 400 words in the entire article aided by the help of amazingly detailed pictures of Earth, the reader is transitioned masterfully through the article without having to invest a large time commitment. Serving more as a teaser article, allowing the readers interest to later make them explore more on the subject, it serves in a deliberately worded function to incite interest. By highlighting the actual function of the satellite a greater understanding of its importance is stressed. This implementation of new digital platforms in news articles creates a non- threatening and more engaged interaction between the subject and the reader through usage of a seamless design in the article.

Does this surprise me… To be honest this doesn't surprise me at all. People like to surround themselves with other voices which align with their own internal views. Serving as a confirmation that they are in the right, from a beliefs perspective, only enhances the way people tend to stay single minded about certain issues. This makes the way we communicate with each other not only difficult but lends itself to only seeing the other side as just the other side, and doesn’t allow people to rational the situational circumstances that made that person align with that particular view point.

A way in which we can help create a more unifying form of discourse between one another is by lowering these walls we have built around us, which not only shield ourselves form other views, but in tern blind us from the other side as well. This change needs to come first in a change in mentality, starting with a movement towards openness. Without this new open mindset, a non-biased news source will only further create a divide because you will only be hearing other opinions as nothing more than other opinions. …
