When I want to learn something new, I look for mentors or experts in that field, someone who can help guide me. Sometimes I like to dig a little deeper and figure out where these mentors got their ideas from.

One mentor who made a deep, lasting impression on me is Dr. Louise Hay, a vibrant author, artist and speaker who generously shared a lifetime of rich experience, writing dozens of motivational books on changing your thoughts and your life. I discovered one of her mentors was Ernest Holmes, who taught that positive thinking can heal your body. Another strong influencer in Louise Hay’s early years was author Florence Scovel Shinn who wrote The Game of Life and How To Play It.

I often recommend one of Louise Hay’s books to my clients. You Can Heal Your Life, lies on a table in my consultation room. This book and Heal Your Body offer tremendous insights and practical tools. We can release painful experiences instead of holding on to them. I love opening my mind to new ideas on healing.

I’m a visual learner, so I fell in love with a movie you can find on YouTube or Amazon: Finding Joe, about American professor Joseph Campbell, author of A Hero’s Journey, and The Power Of Myth. He talks about learning to see the value in our own lives, in who we are right now. Wayne Dyer’s movie The Shift, is another great motivator to help you change your life, and seek your bliss.

Books and movies are great. You read them, get inspired and maybe even take a few steps towards changing your life. But it’s practically impossible to succeed in healing all by yourself. Soon, you realize you need something more to keep you motivated.

You need people. Connection and contact increase the likelihood of commitment. You need like-minded friends, maybe a mastermind group. People who are on a similar path support and encourage you along the way. There’s no competition, everyone has all they need. They ‘get’ where you are. You just relax and enjoy the so-freeing experience of being accepted and affirmed. That’s exactly what we offer, through COR Health Solutions.
