Summer Grasses

A Haiku

A brave Warrior

Fights through awareness of fear

The cowardly man

Fights his own shadow in tears

Be not affeared, then

Of the stalking shadow. Death,

Is of little worth

In the face of greater strength

To know one’s fate and

To know futility is

But the start of love.

Therefore, love and know

The beauty of summer grass

Who's growth alone marks

Graves of fallen men.

Their bones may guide you

Through icy paths in winter.
