Learn by Living

Preaching to the choir, I’m sure…

Everyone knows the best way to learn is by doing.

Not by being told.

Not by reading.

Not by being shown.

To really learn, get out of the classroom, get out of the house, get out of the office, and really get your hands dirty.

Learn by trying it yourself. By failing. By getting better. By making mistakes. By understanding boundaries. By breaking rules. By taking responsibility. By facing the competition. By winning. By teaching others.

Learn by actually living.

To really teach, throw students or users or customers or peers into the mud, give them the freedom to explore their own way, let them make mistakes, and help them when they’re really stuck. Let them live their lives.
