COS NFTs Vol.I: Ships & Systems
What’s up, space fam? Our journey is about to start. So, it’s the right time to reveal our COS assets. We’ll start from the drip basics.
Starter Pack
As you already know, COS has two modes, PvE and PvP. PvE offers a F2P option. However, to earn and unlock PvP, you need NFTs.
We advise you to get a lit NFT bundle with all six types of assets needed for the game. It will save time and nerves and guarantee that your NFTs match perfectly. Yep, COS has an entire spaceship system with multiple elements. They include ships, systems and subsystems, crew, weapons, modules, and drones. Let’s focus on ships, the cornerstone of the Corners Of Space!
Ships
Feel the main character’s energy! Being the key element of the game without which you can’t start your journey, COS ships greatly vary in models. The game has 18 for you to explore!
Meanwhile, each ship has a unique design, system layout, reactor power, and capacity. They also vary in rarity. The thing is that the rarer the ship, the more HP it has. HP is reduced whenever the ship’s shields are breached or any compartment is damaged.
Next, ships can accommodate up to 8 crew members, with an initial crew size of one to four members.
Systems and Subsystems
Systems
Systems are the primary things that make the ships work. Almost all of them can be operated by a crew member. They use the ship’s energy and occupy its slots.
Consider that ships and systems come in various sizes, so your systems’ selection should match the capacity of your space vessel! One more DOPE fact about systems is that they are transferable. So, you can use your favs on one ship and transport them to another for the W.
The key types of systems include:
- Shields: protect the ship from damage.
- Engines: power the hyperdrive and allow your ship to dodge attack.
- Weapon Control: powers all of the ship’s weapons.
- Medbay: allows your crew to recover.
- Oxygen: supplies your ship.
Additional systems are:
- Clone Bay: resurrects the dead and heals the wounded automatically.
- Hacking: lets players target the system on an enemy vessel and temporarily incapacitate it.
- Cloaking: helps users dodge the shots.
- Teleporter: enables players to teleport crew members to enemy ships.
- Mind Control: users to control enemies’ crews for some time.
- Drone Control: enables players to use drones.
- Backup Battery: unlocks the ship’s maximum energy capacity for a short period.
Subsystems
Subsystems sound like something smol, but they are still essential for sleek experiences. Similarly to systems, they can be operated by a crew member and enhance your gaming with dank features. However, unlike systems, they do not require energy and can’t be transferred. Their types include:
- Piloting: helps your ship make the most of hyperjumps and dodge.
- Sensors: display the layout and information about the enemy ship.
- Door System: lets you control the ship’s doors.
F2P For NFT
If you are not ready to acquire COS NFTs, you can still get some. For this, you should become the CEO of battles during the season! While playing, you will earn PARTS, the non-crypto in-game currency, and use it to repair your ship. If you manage to save more PARTS than the rest of the players by the time they complete the campaign, you will be given some assets for free.
If you don’t manage to win NFTs on the first attempt, don’t worry! Since it’s F2P, you are welcome to play as much as you want, upgrade your skills, and come back. Each of your campaigns will be unique thanks to the COS’ roguelike vibes.
