Yes! I hate how everything on social media has become automated. I find the auto-DMs when you follow someone to be the most insulting. You have just connected with this person and the very first thing they do is send you a fake automated response, usually with a ridiculous ask. “Follow me on Facebook too! Let’s connect on LinkedIn! Buy my new album! Tell your friends about me”

I have never responded positively to this. Not once. Not ever. I guess the scale might work to their advantage. Blast thousands of auto-DMs and you might get a 1% response rate. And I know we’re all being told and sold that these tools will help us “stay on top” of our social media interactions and improve our magical “scores” because we respond immediately. But, it just makes me lose respect for the person when they can’t even really connect like a human being. It tells me that I can also expect your posts to be automated drivel too.

Wouldn’t it be better to have fewer, real interactions vs this shallow automated garbage?
