It’s interesting that http://www.tubelectric.com.ar/ just eliminates them as a design element when you go down to mobile.
I think the bigger problem is, if you’re going to show a grid like this, the design system better use it. Especially if your doing responsive. It seems like some of them use it, some of them don’t, and some of them ignore the grid or throw it out when the system becomes too hard.
If the concept of the website calls for it, and it looks good, do it. But can you also do it in a way that doesn’t look like everyone else with the hairline thickness for lines.
