One of my favorite days and events of the year is almost here. Internapalooza, the conference for Silicon Valley Interns, will be held July 22nd at Broadway Studios in San Francisco. This will be the third annual Internapalooza and there are already over 1,500 registrants!
When I was interning in Silicon Valley in high school, I was able to meet amazing entrepreneurs, gain valuable experience, and learn what it took to build a successful company from the ground up. While interning at the Founders Fund, Justin Fishner-Wolfson recommended that I utilize the contacts and relationships I had built during my time as an intern. I took this to heart and created the NextGen Conference bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs with more experienced, successful ones. The initial conference took place at Stanford University and has since expanded to other universities. Internapalooza was a natural progression. The name Internapalooza was recommended by Shark and entrepreneur Mark Cuban after an email conversation I had with him. Although he wasn’t available to speak at the event, he suggested I go with Internapalooza for the name and it stuck
After starting ONE with co-founder Michael Callahan, we set out to recruit the best team of talented and passionate employees. We also set out to partner with experienced advisors and investors to have long lasting relationships. As a part of those goals, events like Internapalooza help bring together talent with the best opportunities available in Silicon Valley.
From networking with the top young CEOs on the planet to gaining important experience at the fastest growing companies in the country, interning in the valley can be a stepping stone to a successful career! Make sure to capitalize on your experience as an intern and build your network along with your skill-set.
Why Internapalooza is a Can’t-Miss Event for Silicon Valley Interns
Networking
This is your chance to meet like-minded interns from the valley. We will have arguably the smartest college students in the country from the most prestigious programs. If you’re looking to meet young entrepreneurial geniuses like yourself, you’re going to the right place.
Opportunities
Companies, founders, and young entrepreneurs will be networking and looking for talent to add to their teams. Companies sponsoring the event include ONE, Salesforce, Jackson, Indiegogo, Bloomberg, Eventbrite, IBM, Yahoo, Amazon, Yelp, Verizon, Facebook, The Hunt, Nest Labs, Booz Allen Hamilton, Nanosatisfi, and CA Technologies.
Speakers
Internapalooza and the NextGen conferences have been lucky to host world-class entrepreneurs to share their stories, advice, and what they wish they knew when they were an intern. I am serving as the event emcee and will bring to the stage a strong lineup of entrepreneurs. Confirmed speakers include Mike Krieger (co-founder of Instagram), Max Levchin (co-founder of PayPal), Kevin Hartz (co-founder of Eventbrite), Keith Rabois (VC at Khosla Ventures and formerly the COO of Square), Michael Stoppleman (VP of Engineering at Yelp), Danae Ringelmann (co-founder of Indiegogo), ONE co-founder and CEO Michael Callahan, and others.
Cost
It’s free, but it’s for interns only and you must register for the event.
Come and meet other young entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, hear great entrepreneurs speak, seek out new opportunities and expand your network. I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking advantage of opportunities similar to those you’ll find at Internapalooza. Don’t miss it!
