I don’t know about you, but it feels like a lot has happened since the last full moon in Taurus on November 15th. Mars is about to retrograde. Neptune ends the day after. Annnddd… Mercury Retrograde also ends on the 15th.

Can we just give a moment of silence for particularly Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces, and by default of all the energy happening there — Virgo? The mutable signs, most especially Sagittarius and Gemini, have been getting sort of slammed left and right in upheavals and changes. I imagine it has been a lot, but hopefully for the better?

This full moon won’t be letting up on you guys any time soon, though. You can read 2023’s Full Moon in Gemini article here for more information on this type of moon in general. But the aspects of this year include a) a loose conjunct with Jupiter, b) a square with Neptune, and c) a sextile with Chiron. I feel like I have talked about the first two in recent articles, but haven’t dived into Chiron and its influence in astrology. So let’s get into that!

Chiron was once considered an asteroid, but nowadays classified as a comet or small planet. In astrology, Chiron is the symbolic ruler of our deepest wound. It’s the part of us that we tend to subconsciously go out into the world and help heal others from, but it takes significant more consciousness and time and energy to heal yourself from the same situation. Plus, there is a variety of aspects and zodiac signs that can be combined to give each individual a unique experience in this area.

Under this full moon in Gemini transit though, we are talking about a sextile with the moon. Chiron is in Aries, and a sextile is a more favorable starting point contrasted with a square or opposition. Sextiles are all about teamwork, and I think about that one activity where two people put their backs together while sitting on the floor, linking arms. Then they have to get up like this. A few options can happen at this point. Sometimes, one teammate might be physically larger and stronger than the other, and they can quite literally “lift for two” and get them both up. In most cases, there has to be an equal give and take to get up, as too much force or too little resistance can knock you back to the ground. You have to tap in, tap out for each other in a consistent back and forth.

So you have an Aries Chiron that’s full of fiery passion and a need to get moving through the pain (especially so and more frustration as its ruler, Mars, is retrograding). Then you mix that with an inquisitive emotional need to come accomplish or wrap up something connected to Mercury such as writing, speaking, or learning new things, it leads to A LOT of energy. But like… touch and go type energy. The things you are wanting to write and speak are not purposely trying to overrun your ability to take that action on it. And vice versa. But most likely if you are a dominant water or earth sign, this might feel really overwhelming. These are all good things, but it feels like it’s all just running out ahead of you. I mean, this is a lot of energy for the air and fire signs, too! Which is why it’s always important to be kind to yourself. haha!

But the point is that this kind of energy for some might be doubly frustrating or feels like it is mentally wounding you more than helping or healing. There could be feelings of urgency, as if you were on fire mentally and you are just trying to put the heat out. If this is more you, then you’ll have to try to find some ways under this transit to let yourself feel your feelings but also not make any hasty decisions that could hurt you later once it has past. For example, maybe you have been thwarted recently with your exercise routine, and your exercise routine clears your mind. Is there a scheduling issue? Can you swap it momentarily to another time? What about another activity instead of your usual workout? What about switching up what you wear or the location you go to?

Try to remember that Neptune and Jupiter are doing their own aspects under this full moon, and both have been known for expanding and exaggerating. Things might not be as bad as it initially seems.
