CosmEthics Default Alerts

CosmEthics has seven default alerts, which are linked to research articles and an abstract (overview of research on the hazard ingredient). You will see a red traffic light appear next to the ingredient name, if the product contains an ingredient from the following alert groups:

Here you can find a complete list of ingredients that will trigger red alerts. The three main groups are formaldehyde, phthalates, parabens and isothiazolinones.

POLYAMINOPROPYL BIGUANIDE (PHMB) was categorized as a CMR (Carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction). This ingredient causes acute toxicity, if inhaled and sale of products with this ingredient is not permitted in the EU. Enclosed is our database capture of 284 products, where PHMB has been found. Note that some compositions may have changed (to comply with the law) or discontinued. However, they might still be available for sale with the older composition.
