As part of our ongoing “Meet the COTI Team’’ series, we sat down with the latest member of our team, Veronika Shabanova. Working as COTI’s brand new Product Owner, we asked Veronika five quick questions to introduce her to you.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into Crypto?
My family and I moved to Israel a year ago and I absolutely love this country and its people. While I enjoy art, cooking and hiking as hobbies, my passion is definitely charity work.
In my professional career, I was always fascinated with the inner-workings of the tech industry. Processes are different, change happens quickly and markets react almost immediately. I’ve worked in various tech domains including e-commerce, ESG, Healthcare and many more. Despite my varied experience, I’ve always had a keen interest in blockchain and was thrilled when the role at COTI became available.
What attracted you to COTI?
Two things attracted me to COTI most of all. The first, as I said, is the opportunity to broaden my understanding of the crypto space. COTI’s innovation in the Web3 payments space is truly inspiring and I’m excited to be a part of it. The second is the role itself and its area of responsibility. From the moment of my immersion in the world of technology, I really liked Agile and the processes built on the basis of this approach. I will be very happy to be able to bring the spirit of Agile to the COTI team.
What do you hope to improve from within COTI’s Product department?
Agile is all about being able to react quickly and efficiently to change. I hope to help COTI achieve their goals faster and more efficiently. I’d also like to help the development team build processes that will boost collaboration, drive iterative improvements and maximize their potential while not deviating from the priorities and main goals of the business.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
One of my previous employers was a traditional distiller of premium vodka. I learned a lot during my time there, including this fun fact:
Vodka was originally created as a medicine and a perfume. We didn’t think of drinking it till many years later!
