Sam’s moral landscape is not very prescriptive for how to make the world a better place. But, I think the Bible fits in there, you can think of it as an early map used to navigate the landscape. The pieces were put together intuitively using the best tool we had access to at the time, the human brain. And the brain is still the best thing we have to solve a great many problems. It’s no surprise to me that there are some common things that made the lives of people 2000 years ago, as well as today, better. This bathwater is filthy, let’s freshen it up a bit.
