How to Survive a Heat Wave

For me air-conditioning has been elusive but the use of fans has made life during summer possible until I moved to a coastal area Not On The Gulf Coast. For me getting up early to do things outside is essential. Mowing the lawn at five in the morning won’t endear you to your neighbors but heat stroke is avoided, an electric mower will lessen the number of complaints and pitch forks. Closing up your living space will postpone the swelter for a few hours and libraries are open til the worst of the days heat is passed.
