Death changes you. It changed me.

I remember waking up on a Saturday morning in Philly. My boyfriend was still asleep in the bedroom down the hall. His computer sat perched on a large, broken storage shelf. The door leading to the backyard sat behind me and some mornings, when it was hot, when it was a sticky July or August morning, I’d grab my laptop, a cup of coffee and just start writing.
