Meet the Archangels —
Real angels — yes. They are found in Torah and bible . Specifically mentioned are three. Highest placed, archangel, among them is called Michael. He appears in scripture numerous times directly and indirectly. Working beneath the feet of Jesus, stewarding humanity. Michael is the specific guardian of those who God loves — Israel, as when he teaches Enoch the mysteries of justice. His other names include prince, angel of God’s covenant, angel of mercy and water.
Michael is noted as both guardian and prince over Israel in Daniel 12:1 “ the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people will arise.”
He appears in other notable ways.
First in a burning Bush to Moses
Moses saw a burning bush that was not consumed. “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush” (Exodus 3:2). This was the angel Michael directly speaking to Moses , stunning Moses of God’s desire to reveal himself to him and later share with him more knowledge for others.
Messianic Prophecy — Angel of the Covenant
An angel proclaims in early scripture that God will send messiah to his people this is mentioned in Malachi 3:1 , the messenger of this covenantal promise is Michael
Malachi 3:1: “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Malachi 3:1 is found in the the final book of the prophets — completing the (tanakh) Hebrew bible for jews, old Testament bible for Christians
The Prince
In Daniel 8:25, “Prince of princes” is mentioned, the Archangel Michael is described as a prince. At this point in scripture, a cosmic conflict is being played out with Christ on one side, the devil on the other, and humanity serving as the battlefield. Beyond the third Reich or the P.A.V.N., is Michael in the battle of Armegedon in the midst of a king from each of the four corners of the earth (Daniel 11)
Michael is significant — but as in Hebrews 3:3 — Christ is greater than Moses, than all the angels — Christ is worthy of all praise. Below is a special prayer for Michael’s strength if it is needed.
