Catherine, it’s not so much the “making mistakes” that is the problem I’m trying to address here. Its the “making mistakes” and not even knowing they are making them, or being held accountable, or learning how to stand in some else’s shoes and think about what it feels like to constantly explain oneself, one’s country etc. I understand your exhaustion. It’s exhausting to engage in self-examination. It’s also a moral imperative, especially for those with privilege. Imagine how exhausting it is to feel beholden to unconscious people with lots of power…
