GOING TRIBAL!

This blog post is in response to Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge Day 6

Tribe…? What does this word invoke in my mind?

A country of more than 250 ethnic groups.

A country where every kilometer means another language.

A country where almost everything seem to be tied with ethnic colouration.

A country where appointive and elective positions are guided by federal character due to its multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-ethnic nature.

A country with a population of more than 150 million people.

This country is often touted as the most populous black nation in Africa. Yes, one out of every four African is a Nigerian!

As a Nigerian, when the word “tribe” is mentioned, that’s what comes to my mind!

But, its interesting to note that that’s not what tribe means in the context of becoming a celebrated writer!

So what does tribe mean in this instance? Does it mean….

Family members?

Friends or acquaintances?

Associates or colleagues?

Contemporaries?

Mentors?

Influencers? (thanks to LinkedIn.com).

Yes! Tribe could mean any of these people in so far as they fall within the category of persons who understands you, supports you, brings out the best in you, and inspire you to keep going.

You look up to them for inspiration. They’re the reason for your success or failure in living your dream lifestyle.

Now I ask, who forms part of your tribe? While you’re pondering over that question, my tribe include the late Honourable Justice Timothy Akinola Aguda, Honourable Justice Inyang E. Ekwo and Natalie Sisson. This is what I said of the first two persons in response to Day 2 of Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge.

Natalie Sisson easily comes next in finding my tribe. She has influenced me for the last one week and she’s till influencing me. She represents a shining beacon on my part to becoming a celebrated writer.

I was euphoric about her Definitive List of Tools To Run Your Business From Anywhere (is this part of the reason she is the suitcase entrepreneur?).

The list is a 1-stop shop to whatever is needed for success as a writer.

As a lawyer, I appreciate the legal tools found at page 11 of the 15-page guide which will enable writers especially without legal background benefit from legal procedural niceties.

While I was savoring the beauty of the Definitive List, she appeared with this ever-encouraging and mind-blowing 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge.

She says in the introduction to the challenge:

“I’ve designed it so that you can take one small action each day that will help you move forward past any hurdles or challenges you may be facing and on the path to building the momentum toward living life on your own terms”.

This was the perfect antidote to my protracted inaction towards becoming a writer! I love the aura surrounding everything about suitcase entrepreneur. I’m sticking with it. Someday I’m going to ask Natalie of what informed her “mission to help 1,000,000+ entrepreneurs create true freedom in life by 2020”?

I must be among these 1,000,000+ entrepreneurs. But then, I have work to do! Yes, concluding everyday of the #10DBC enroute my #freedomplan to success is my top priority now.

Day 6 of the challenge just assisted me find my tribe! Let’s go to Day 7 (Seventh Day or Sabbath Day) of the Challenge!
