Thanks for the thoughtful followup. Honestly, I don’t know the best way to approach to actual implementation of societal changes, and there are surely some efforts already underway that are not the correct solution. This probably is what needs to happen though — experimenting with policy until we find the right balance.

I generally agree with what you’re saying, with a caveat that when considering the “privacy and safety of the majority” is has to actually be based in reality, not on misconceptions about groups of people that individuals and society hold.
