Conshohocken Brewing Co. created a new beer inspired by Joel Embiid’s love of Shirley Temples

For a guy who has only played in 32 games out of a possible 247 during his first three NBA seasons, Philadelphia’s star center, Joel Embiid, is feeling the love.

Embiid and the Sixers kicked of the much-anticipated 17–18 NBA season with a 120–115 loss to the Washington Wizards last night.

To honor their star-in-the-making, the local Philly brewery, Conshohocken Brewing Company, created a beer based off Embid’s well-known obsession with the iconic children’s drink, the Shirley Temple.

Hinkie’s Sweet Revenge is a Belgian style witbier infused with ginger and black currant, instead of orange and coriander, which is typical for a witbier. The ginger/current duo gives the beer a slight sweetness, so you don’t need to worry about this beer being too sweet for your taste buds.

The beer is only available on-tap at both Misconduct Tavern’s in Center City, and at the Conshohocken Brewing taproom. Only 50 kegs of this limited-edition brew were created, so drink up while you can.

Fans can get a pint for $5 during all Sixers games and $7 anytime else.
