This is a key point to be sure. That’s one reason I would never order a hot tea at Starbucks or (fill in the blank) coffee shop. I don’t have a $1000 bean grinder, an espresso machine that heats the water up to the exact temperature and then uses the perfect pressure, or the skill to expertly froth the milk like they do at a coffee shop. Place a tea bag in a near boiling hot cup of water? Yeah, that I can do.
I’d rather pay $4 for something I can’t do than $2 for something my nine year old could do as well as the barista.
