As usual, Canadians (who join political parties in tiny numbers, only 2–3% of us at any one time) go begging to parties and leaders and candidates to do what they do not seem to understand they must do amongst themselves.

http://facebook.com/voteswapcanada is publicly swapping votes for close races right now. Sharing those actual swap offers into forums where people in positions to help, can see them, is worth much more than signing petitions to do things that no party has ever done, no candidate has done, and which their own constitutions and EC rules forbid them from doing as collusion. People signing that and advocating this approach which begs to parties and candidates (when it’s the electoral district associations in each riding that would actually have to be the entity conceding every single race, and much earlier than now when it’s far too late to get off the Oct9–12 or 19 ballot) just seem not to understand that it’s up to voter-to-voter organizations.

http://voteswapping.ca was to arrange private vote swaps but at this point the crush of bad advice for non-reciprocated tactical votes from poor analysis sites like this one and ‘strategicvoting.ca’ is overwhelming good advice like to make a #voteswapselfie and go viral with it.

http://electionprediction.org has a much better list of current swing ridings. A few of those recommended, like Haldimand-Norfolk or Brampton Centre, are already more or less Conservative certainties, whereas others like Brampton East, North, South, are still close and could be affected by swaps.
