On thing to note is that AMP itself isn’t a feed syndication format and relies on RSS (or Atom, etc.) for that purpose. AMP does innovate on the actual content format. In a way this does fill a blind spot of the original syndication era as it lacked a good mechanism for content to travel to reading destinations in a way that allowed for the publisher to maintain control about how things are displayed and monetized.
