You’ve embarked on a journey of discovery and collection. Now, it’s time to take those treasured internet gems and curate them into something amazing. It’s time to pack your very own Crate!

It’s time to pack a Crate!

How To Pack a Crate

1. First, you’re going to click the “Add” button located at the center of your app menu. This will transport you to your Studio, the place where all your cherished saved content resides.

2. Next, choose the specific items you want to include in your Crate by tapping on one or more content pieces. Keep in mind that great Crates often feature three or more content items, enabling you to create an engaging narrative.

3. Afterward, click on “Add to Crate” to officially include your selected content pieces.

4. Once you’re content with your selections, click “Next” to proceed.

This is where you can add your own personal touch to your Crate. Provide a catchy title, relevant tags, and select a cover image that best represents your curated content. Feel free to edit these details as you see fit. By clicking “Edit cover,” you can either choose an image from your content items or let our app create a captivating cover image for your Crate.

Don’t forget to click “Save” once you’re satisfied with your settings.

7. Now comes the fun part — tweaking your Crate before sharing it with the world. You can rearrange your content items, modify your title, tags, or cover image, or even add more content to enhance your narrative. When everything looks just right, hit “Publish” to share your Crate with the online community! 🚀📦

Stuck on where to start? Here’s how our Editorial Lead, Asabe, is building Crates!

I’m Asabe (pronounced Ah-sah-bay like The Bay or Beyoncé). I work on partnerships, content and community here at Crate. Here’s how I pack my editorial and personal Crates.

Let’s get personal!

In my personal life, a Crate is a collection of memories garnished with internet gems.

My most recent Crate was inspired by Entergalactic, an animated series by Kid Cudi. I was so overwhelmed by the creativity, the story, the characters. I wanted to pocket the feeling I had the moment I first watched the show. The nerd I am, I needed to know everything about the show. I collected articles, the album, the soundtrack, and the “why” behind it all. I wanted to unpack and relive the magic of that moment again and again. Take a look at my Crate here to experience the magic, too.

Work Mode

As the editorial team lead at Crate, I prioritize context and accessibility. The content shows context, while the varying types of multimedia content are helpful to users. Because everyone is wonderfully unique, we all like to consume content in different ways, so I like to mix up my Crate to make it more accessible.’

I look at Crates as a cultural infographic powered by multimedia stories. My Crates have at least three posts to show the breadth of the idea and varying sides of a story. The best voices must be heard.

Crates are collections of the internet, just filtered. So Let’s Crate the Internet Together!

To get started, download the Crate app from the Apple App or Google Play stores ✨📦 #CrateMagic.
