As designers, our very job consists of creating and sharing fictions — representations of a better version of the world through the design concepts we develop. It is our responsibility to assess the as-is state of a situation, and figure out its to-be version.
Help your users understand how to use the filter before they start. Think about users’ needs and design the filter logic that fits their need. Display the filter result in a way that supports how the users want to use the results. Test your design and allow users to share their search results.
