As we near the end of April, there is so much that has happened in the space this month. The Gutter Juices started becoming Gutter Clones and Dogs are the only ones left to be cloned. Gary Vee had his VeeFriends Series 2 drop and the Moonbirds literally took a lucky few to the Moon. And on April 30, the BAYC which celebrated its one year anniversary this month, is doing a sale of ‘Otherdeeds’ that gives you land on the ‘Otherside’, the Yuga Labs Metaverse project in collaboration with Animoca Brands. The sale of otherdeeds in $APE, the BAYC token has seen it climb to over $22 before falling to $20 at the time of writing this.
While all that was happening in the rest of the NFT Space, the Collective was grinding away in the background. There have been delays in publishing for the weekly edition and therefore the Collective Chronicle has become a bi-weekly edition from Volume 9 onwards. That said, this volume is being released on a very important date for the Collective, the day the Collective Council was formed. Twenty members of the Collective have been nominated as Council Members who will take the decision making from one Carl to Twenty Carls, one of the steps in our endeavor to decentralize the Collective. More on the Council in the next volume.

Q1: Welcome to ‘Carl Corner’, a part of our weekly newsletter where we spotlight one of our very own. This week, it is with Crazy Carl Collective (CCC) member, Carl aka @notcarl in our Discord / aka @CrazyCryptoCarl on Twitter / aka not actually named Carl IRL (confused yet?). “Carl” — firstly, what made you choose Carl as your pseudonym?
Carl was actually a name voted on by the early Crazy About Crypto Show community. After a couple shows, I put out a Twitter Poll that had a whopping 24 votes. Thankfully “Crazy Carl” won, because some of the other options were just terrible. Can you imagine Chatt Chandler being our identity?!
Q2: We can see from your Twitter profile that you call yourself a “anon Web3 experiment” — what do you mean by this? Many of us know your background already but perhaps your response to that can also give some background on you in general for those unaware?
The hypothesis around The Crazy About Crypto Show, and now The Crazy Carl Collective was to build something different in the space that would 1) help educate others 2) bring people together and 3) reward others for helping build something bigger than themselves. On day 1 of the CAC show I promised my very small room of listeners that I would never monetize the content of the show without finding a way to add value to them as well. That is the true nature and spirit of Web3. The OG CCC mint was my follow through on that promise, and now we all build together which is even more beautiful. We have successfully started the experiment, but we are far from completing it or defining it as a success or failure yet. The more people that show up to help the CCC grow, the more promise the experiment shows.
Q3: You recently released a genesis collection and April is a milestone month for that. Can you tell us more about that?
There are 3,333 Genesis Mints, but after this second unlock only about ⅓ of those will have been claimed and in circulation. We are slowly releasing the NFT to ensure the best we can that they go in the right hands. Every quarter for the next two years, genesis CCC mints unlock from a smart contract. At each of these unlocks there will be a new CarlList formed where anyone who has shown promise in understanding the vision of the CCC or current Carls that are helping build the CCC are able to acquire additional mints. After the April mint, we will continue building until the next unlock in July.
Q4: Speaking of genesis drops, we heard about your one-of-one coming in the next 9 months (less than!). Drop some alpha for us bro — boy or girl? What’s his/her pseudonym going to be? How much crazier is it about to get in the Crazy Carl and Crazy Carla household?
You’re right! Thanks for remembering Carla is indeed pregnant with our second little one. We are so excited to add another little one to the crazy household. I believe this will be the first time we reveal gender, but the CCC definitely deserves to hear it first. It will be another GIRL. 3 Carlas vs 1 Carl. I love being a girl dad, and couldn’t be happier for our first born to have a little best friend sister.
Q5: What excites you about the NFT space AND about CCC going forward?
The NFT Space is getting noisier, but I’m really happy to see people finding pockets they trust and learning in smaller spaces. I think this year we are going to see people really gravitating to 1 or 2 communities they trust instead of trying to keep up with all of them — there are just too many sub communities to keep up with at this point. I’m THRILLED that the CCC has a strong foothold to be one of those micro communities. The talent of the people in the CCC is insane and humbling to be a part of. We are #builtdifferent, because without all of us working together, we would have no secret sauce. The community IS truly the utility.
Q6: It’s great to share with the world a bit more about you Carl. Your background, ambition, upcoming drops (NFTs and IRL), and what excites you about the CCC and space at large are all really interesting. To close, what do you think other members of our CCC can do to get involved? Also, what about those who are not in the Collective — what do you think they can do to get involved?
#WeAreCrazyCarl is the mindset shift we are still working on achieving in the collective — some people still look at me as “Carl”, but that cannot be the case as we onboard more people. The next wave needs to see “us” as Carl. The community is Carl, they even voted on that name — and now I’m asking them to embrace the identity of Carl for everything we stand for collectively. The secret is in our tagline: Watch us. Then Join Us. You don’t need a genesis mint to be a Carl, but if you’re a Carl I promise you’ll eventually get a mint. It takes each of us, and I’m excited to see what we continue to build collectively.
Welcome to the ninth edition of blue chip spotlight. Each fortnight, The Crazy Carl collective will be featuring a new edition of blue chip spotlight. In the spotlight this fortnight is VeeFriends covered by @AstralApe.
“VeeFriends is the name of Gary Vaynerchuk’s NFT collection. The general ethos behind VeeFriends is to provide an array of individual benefits to its holders, “Each NFT will have a specific message and meaning and provide metadata with on chain storage of media. The inaugural collection included 10,255 VeeFriends which provides perks within the VeeFriends ecosystem, “All VeeFriends token owners get access to VeeCon. VeeCon is a multi-day event exclusively for NFT holders. The NFT will give a three year access pass to attend VeeCon in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The conference will be focused around business, marketing, ideas, creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, competition and of course, fun. Gary’s focus is to curate the best experience for his community, bringing enormous access and informational value to all the VeeFriends token holders in attendance.” This year, the VeeCon will run from May 19 through May 22, 2022. VeeCon serves as the mechanism for the community to expand on its foundations and to stretch web3 connections into the physical world.

Lastly, VeeFriends has recently announced the release of Series 2 of VeeFriends! “The highly anticipated VeeFriends Series 2 NFT collection is set to launch this April starting with our “Friends List” on April 13th. VeeFriends Series 2 comes almost a year after the genesis collection of VeeFriends which launched in May 2021, and is releasing just before our first ever VeeCon, an annual 3 year Web3 mega-conference created for Series 1 holders. With the total token supply of VeeFriends Series 2 being 55,555 and a mint price of $995 priced in Ethereum on the day before launch, many are excited at the opportunity to now be able to own a VeeFriends NFT and join the community.”
Series 2 consists of 251 characters, including 236 characters from Series 1 and 15 new characters who are officially being introduced to the VeeFriends universe. Holding of a specific number of the Book Games NFT, which was dropped to buyers of a set of 12 of Gary’s bestselling book ‘Twelve and a Half’ is the only way to get the new characters.

Community member @iBlind1 tells us about @NOMOZ_X, Artist and Founder of @CTxNOMOZ
Here in the Crazy Carl Collective, we have our own personal memories that are attached to Gutter Cat #1979 which started the CCC. Whatever emotions this jpg elicits in you, a key feature that is associated with our identity here in the collective are the tattoos inked on Carl. Tattoos both in real life and the NFT world elicit an emotional response from a memory or thought that sparks a pleasant or not so pleasant feeling. One of our collective members has been working on his first personal collection exclusively for the CCC. This collection incorporates tattoos that are at the heart of what Carl is.
Nomoz has been working on a collection of 1,111 NFTs that are all hand drawn and uniquely pieced together (manually not generatively). The hallmark of this collection will be the tattoos that define the values which represent our “Carl” identity. The tattoos have a variety of meanings that elicit a different emotion in everyone and will have connections rooted in Web 3, Crypto, the CCC, and of course the personality of Nomoz himself. The tattoos as well as the characters are all unique pieces drawn by Nomoz.
Nomoz has been working with NotCarl the Anon (formally known as Carl) to curate this collection exclusively for the CCC. In doing so, a partnership or collaboration has formed between the CCC and Nomoz where the collective is helping with marketing this amazing artist and his talents along with the backend requirements. In return, Nomoz has given the CCC exclusive rights to mint and all secondary commissions will go straight to the collectives’ community wallet.
Not only has Nomoz given the future commissions for this collection, he has also been volunteering his time to do live broadcasts in the CCC discord for all verified members. Sharing our talents and experiences with other members of this community is what helps everyone in this space grow and to become successful. While doing these live broadcasts, he has received suggestions from our members and has incorporated many into the final designs. He plans on doing more of these live drawings for our members in the future.
Nomoz was also a guest on Meet the Carls (which airs every Monday at approximately 8pm EST) where we learned more about his art and where his inspiration comes from. TrinidaddyJack even hinted at a possible future Crypto Tats tattoo studio located somewhere in the Carlverse where his artwork will be displayed and you may possibly be able to get personalized tattoos from Nomoz. If you are wondering if you can get an original Nomoz tattoo IRL, for this to happen we will need to start up an “orange fund” so he can practice his tattooing skills on a simulated human canvas first.
The collaboration with Nomoz is just beginning and we are looking forward to seeing what comes next. Thin Crust Chicken Pizza
Ingredients
Wewalka Bistro Pizza Dough 7.8 Oz — 7.8 Oz (Round or Rectangular)
BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Burrata Cup 4–2oz Mini Balls — 8 Oz
Classico Signature Recipes Pizza Sauce Traditional Jar — 14 Oz
Fresh Spinach — 1 bunch
Onion
Green / Red / Yellow Peppers
Rotisserie Chicken (precooked)
Dry Salami / Prosciutto
Honey
Red Pepper Flakes
Olive Oil
Minced Garlic
Italian herb blend
Directions
1. Preheat: Convection: 400 degrees F. Regular: 425 degrees F. Use dough directly from fridge. Place pizza stone in the oven as it’s preheating if you have one (highly recommended investment)
2. Unroll pizza on a cutting board with parchment paper.
3. Prep: Dice onions and peppers. Chop spinach. Cube rotisserie chicken or protein of choice.
Create: Lightly drizzle olive oil over crust, use a fork or spoon to spread minced garlic lightly over entire crust. Spread pizza sauce with a large sauce to lightly cover the crust, too much sauce will affect the integrity of the crust (this is a thin crust pizza!). Next spread chopped onions and peppers evenly throughout, continue with cubed chicken and spinach. Use kitchen scissors to cut Dry Salami / Prosciutto over pizza into thin slivers. Place Mozzarella pearls 1–2 inches apart. Lastly, drizzle honey over entire pizza 😊 add red pepper flakes, Italian herb blend, ground black pepper and a touch of salt.
4. Bake 14–18 Min: Bake on parchment paper on pizza stone or flat baking sheet.
Let rest for 2–3 minutes before slicing. Serve and Enjoy!
