Toothbrush designed using generative algorithms

Generative Algorithms (GAs) has always fascinated me since I read The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins. And I have tried a lot of ways to implement nature-inspired algorithms to my designs.

To start with the general framework, I do a quick sketch about the morphological architecture of the toothbrush.

The sketch is translated to Grasshopper 3D. The cross-section curves are the actual genes of the toothbrush and are connected to the generative programme so that we can modify the length breadth and the height between the curves to generate thousands of combinations of toothbrush forms.

The curves help to get the simple mesh, and later it is smoothed using Catmull Clark subdivision technique.

The toothbrushes are speciated when they use a similar threshold (85%) of values for each gene parameter.
