A Warning

I wrote a warning

On the wall

Carved in

Ancient letters

A story told

A story lost

I strived to make

It better

I sang a song

In high-pitched chorus

Of long forgotten

Lovers

I drank the wine

I broke the bread

But it never stopped

The stutter

I lost and found

A million letters

But never found

a single word

I stood and fell

A thousand times

On every sad man’s

Sword

I write now of a

Feeling

That was lucid

And a dream

I wrote that story

On the wall

But somewhere

Lost the scheme
