Yikes. It sounds like honesty with self, others, and being able to adult are much bigger issues for you and your BF than a little five year technological age gap.

My husband is 10 years my senior (old millennial here), and we’ve never wondered where we stood with each other or how we feel. Because we ask and state these things openly, not encoded into some one-sided texting ritual that protects us from having to be adults and vulnerable with each other.

It’s not my intention to be rude; I just want to encourage you to re-examine your conclusions. I think you may have missed the real takeaway.
