The Taste of Love
It tastes of fresh sweet
From the confectionery.
So tingle my tongue
The delights of intimacy.
Like the leaves of fall
Trampled and disgraced;
A bland match with the sky and yet
Rich with the blood after heartbreak.
Lands bitter on my buds
With unwanted intervention.
It comes worst when not foreseen
I must swallow to keep this relation.
Come home to tea with me!
I’ve never had guests before.
Pardon me if I spill your tea,
Though I’ll understand if you’ll go…
It tastes of void and feels painful
As I choke on this lonesome meal:
Tears for water, gags for beer
Under an empty laugh to please.
Sometimes it tastes unwanted
After all the tries you gave.
Sometimes it goes unnoticed
After all the whiles you stayed.
It tastes of starvation, the hunger pangs
That fist me with blows of reality.
It tastes like things I don’t understand
Why accompany love, like does myself gravity.
