There’s always phone numbers, or in-person applications (where some of these form issues come into play too — with the added issues of size and layout). Not everyone always has the means to create or check emails — for example, they may be reliant on the library for Internet access. So sometimes text messages or phone calls are more efficient to contact others.

Point being, don’t assume everyone is contactable the same way.
