Tiara’s Running List of Ideas for Creative Projects (Last Update: 28/7/16)
Ideas are a dime a dozen, and I’ve got enough for a few dollars. Sometimes those ideas get explored and end up as realised projects, or become the spark for something else. Sometimes they get explored but hit a dead end. And sometimes they just stay ideas.
Right now I’m a little too frustrated to really explore any of my floating ideas, mostly because I’ve been very focused on finding stable sources of income/job-hunting and that’s not actually going very well. So I figured I’d make & release my list of those ideas out to the world. Maybe I’ll work on one, maybe someone else can do it better than me, who knows.
If you want to adopt an idea for yourself, or you want to actually work with me to make this idea reality, get in touch! I’ll likely keep this updated once I come up with new ideas to sift through.
ARTS, WRITING, PERFORMANCE, WITCHERY
- LIMINA: Story about a young woman who gains powers from a Google Glass-like device
- Can change how people perceive her (sorta like shapeshifting), intuitive with tech, can read electro/radio transmissions
- Worked on this for NaNoWriMo 2014; would like to make this a graphic novel but need a collaborating artist! - Yoni Ki Baat: Australia
- Trying to get a Melbourne production sorted but hard to find a co-production team - Burlesque/performance art stage production that is basically my life story set to the music of Darren Hayes since he’s the soundtrack to my life
- Actually attempted to get this going circa 2012 but got vetoed by his record label because he wanted to do his own musical - YA dystopia story ala Hunger Games or anything else with a sorting mechanic where the choice is between Arts, Science, Humanities
- based on a true story! - Phantom of the Opera-esque story set in a burlesque venue
- Murder mystery? CYOA story?
- Most of the characters I have are based on people in the burlesque scene that I don’t want anything to do with anymore but the story ideas still persists! - Planner stickers/planner deco for and by people who are more geeky, nerdy, weirdo, artsy, activisty, alternative, queer
- Ala the stuff in this Pinterest board! - Cosplay/Burlesque: What Can I Do For You? clothes changing from Rose to Rainbow Quartz to Pearl
- Cosplay/Burlesque: Muffet with this ska version of Spider Dance
- Pop culture/tech magick shop (e.g. magickal jewelry based off Steven Universe gems or tools refashioned from circuitry)
- Planner templates/stickers for witchy purposes
GAMES AND TECH
- Lovelace School of Queerness and Witchery
- What are you? A RPG? A pervasive game? Blog? Secret Society? Chapbook? Creative collective? Actual school? Novel?
- Tried to make this a Tumblr RPG but it didn’t take off — the concept would have been a magickal school ala Hogwarts with courses taught by fictional and based-on-real-life witchy women about both fictional and real magick (esp technomagic, urban magic, social justice, art) - An Instagram or YouTube persona that acts/looks like every other Instagram/YouTube fashionista/lifestyle blogger type but there’s a hidden story about this character’s otherworldly origins
- Kinda like an ARG in the form of a lifestyle blog - Darren Hayes’s This Delicate Thing We’ve Made as a series of interconnected multi-genre games
- Fear of Falling Under/Who Would Have Thought: find your way underwater with a series of flashing beacon lights leading to a secret laboratory
- Waking the Monster: escape the room/build a time machine
- How To Build A Time Machine: use said time machine to go back to the past and complete some tasks
- Casey: car racer
- A Conversation With God: car racer, except you’re always on the verge of falling off the road into the water and have to catch yourself
- On The Verge of Something Wonderful: hidden-object game
- Neverland: Scribblenauts-esque - A series of puzzle games related to Darren Hayes’s Secret Codes and Battleships since that’s similar to how he actually released that album
- Website/web app (ala Redbubble etc) that allows artists to make and design their own planner decoration stickers without needing to worry about layouts, dimensions, production, or distribution
BUSINESS/CAREER-RELATED
- Book about business fundamentals for artists & other weirdos based off my writings about HBX CORe
- Consultancy business for artists & other weirdos on a sliding scale
- Stealing the idea of the 100 Person Project (providing free 1-hour consultancy sessions to 100 people in the hopes that the connections lead to job offers)
- Web/TV series ala One Week Job or Lonely Planet Six Degrees where I explore and document a different subculture & get really immersed for about a month
- A version of the Person You Should Know tinyletter about people that would tend to be more in my circles
- Dollar A Day for specific people (artists, changemakers)
FANDOM-RELATED
- Cosplay/photo portrait project with every look Darren Hayes has ever done (guess who is a major fan)
- Steven Universe/Harry Potter crossover where the Gems run a magickal school and each Diamond runs a house
- Original idea came from another Tumblr user and I started plotting this out — waiting for more info about the other Diamonds! - Steven Universe/Undertale crossover where the SU characters occupy the UT universe
- Rose is alive but vengeful towards humans after Greg runs away; turns out she did manage to give birth to a mostly-human Steven but he still has some latent Gem powers which leaves him in a watermelon state - Homestuck/Harry Potter crossover where the Next Gen kids (Harry and co’s children) unlock some spellbooks that require them to play a game to ensure that magic exists in their universe
- Homestuck-themed planner deco sets for Fan Forge — need an artist
- Research project about the ways that fans use fandom as a pathway into potential career paths
- Proposed this for UC Berkeley post-doc but was unsuccessful

- Cosplay: Hermione Granger as Witch of Light
- Cosplay: Rocky Horror Picture Mettaton
- Game Jam: Fandom edition
