Hey Jesse, no offense, but for someone who has been “working on the portfolio” every waking minute, that GitHub repository list of yours is pretty lackluster.

I don’t doubt your passion for software development (based on your story), but passion doesn’t always translate into excellence. Maybe your skills are mediocre because you didn’t have long employment spans, nor a particular focus on a language / framework; try to specialize on something, and I’d also recommend looking for employment outside of programming just enough to get back on your feet.

It may not be your dream job, but working a few months in a store will let you save enough to maybe get a used car and a used laptop, which open the door for more opportunities.
