Reclaim Your Power. Not your average self-improvement book

Self Improvement books come and go, and as someone who reads my fair share of them as part of my work as a professional speaker, I didn’t realise the power of a book until I wrote my own.

I’ve been teaching the contents of my book in live workshops, webinars, presentations, and one on one conversations for over to 20 years but even then it had not occurred to me to put it into a book. I’ve even used the tools contained within myself, in my ongoing recovery from my time in the military. My diagnosis of chronic PTSD, Generalised Anxiety Disorder that my advocate refers to as the GAD, alcohol use disorder, and major depressive disorder, have all been made remarkably more bearable due to the system outlined in my book.

‘Yes it’s written as a self improvement book for men, but I don’t discriminate’… is a comment I find myself saying on a fairly regular basis. Something that seems confusing but is actually true. Whilst I market my services to men and the cover indicates that it is a book for men, I don’t write as if I am writing to a man. It really is for everyone. My desire to choose men’s mental health as my niche came from having lost 6 mates to suicide post-service. One of whom was particularly close to me, I decided enough was enough and that I had to direct my skillset to help men as much as I could.

Theoretically, based on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy REBT, it is also based on stoicism and the belief that self esteem is not only a waste of time, but…
