Why Friday Might not be the end for A-Rod

Alex Rodriguez is one of the best players to ever play baseball when you look at his statistics. The youngest player to hit 500 Home Runs, .295 career hitter, racking up 3,114 hits (20th All-Time) 696 Home Runs (4th All-Time) and 2,084 RBI’s (3rd All-Time) across 22 MLB Seasons. However, his legacy will be tarnished because of his steroid scandal and because he fought it harder than any other player who was proven guilty of cheating. Though Friday will definitely be his last game as a Yankee it may not be his last as a Major League Baseball player.

While the Yankees are finished with him, other teams might want his services. He is four home runs away from 700. He had a 30+ HR season a year ago. He is struggling this season but that power might still be there. He could be a solid bat off the bench for contending teams. He would at least sell tickets if he’s put in the lineup as a DH.

Perhaps he will have a reunion with his first two teams and division rivals Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners. After all, the Rangers are still paying him. Or maybe he will go hit till HR #700 with the Marlins in Miami, where he spent his teenage years and was a star in high school. A player that good, and that dominant cannot go out like this. It doesn’t seem fit that he will just walk away from a game he loves so much. This cannot be the end and I don’t think it is. Another team is bound to sign the controversial slugger.
