1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick: The Story of Luke Magnotta
A troubled young man, Luke tortured and killed animals before the brutal murder and dismemberment of a man he met online
Luke Magnotta murdered a university student named Jun Lin, chopped up his body, mailed his limbs to various places throughout Canada, then shared a video online of the murder titled “1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick.”
The suitcase sat in the alleyway of the apartment building for several days before the stench protruded from it so badly, the janitor no longer could ignore it. He opened the suitcase and was horrified by its contents: the severed torso and limbs of an unknown man.
In the spring of 2012, the remaining body parts turned up in different locations. A foot was discovered inside a package at the Canada Post before it was delivered to the office of Canada’s Prime Minister. Postal workers intercepted a package containing a hand that was en route to the Liberal Party.
Body parts arrived at two different elementary schools in Vancouver, British Columbia. Unsuspecting teachers and faculty opened the packages containing decomposing human remains.
