Allen Lee Davis: Triple Murderer Endured a ‘Botched’ Execution

Allen Lee Davis likely did not suffer during his execution in Florida’s electric chair, although photographs taken after his death might suggest otherwise. Davis suffered a nosebleed as the voltage from the electric chair rippled through his body. The blood fell onto his white shirt, quickly spreading into a large spot in the middle of his chest.

Had the execution caused Davis immense pain, most people would not have batted an eye. In the opinion of the majority, Davis deserved to die a slow, painful death after killing a pregnant woman and her two children.

The Murder of Nancy, Katherine, and Kristina

The murder took place on May 11, 1982, when Davis broke into Nancy Weiler’s home. Three months pregnant, Nancy was also a mother of 9-year-old Kristina and 5-year-old Katherine. All three were home when Davis broke in.

When Davis confronted Nancy, he immediately retrieved his .357 Magnum handgun and shot her in the back of the head. He then took the gun and beat Nancy in the head with it, striking her in the face and head no less than 25 times as her daughters screamed in terror.
