Friday Listening playlists are collaborative. Anyone can listen but to contribute you need to ‘follow’ the playlist first. How you follow varies between devices and platforms. If you’ve never followed one, poke around a bit. If you can’t find it try google or shoot me a message and I’ll help if I can.

Why you should contribute

  1. It’s fun.
  2. It’s fun for the Friday Listening ‘community’ (remind us, how many people does it take to qualify for community status?) and makes for an even more diverse and synapse snapping musical transitions.
  3. The playlist themes are designed to be open to interpretation and are, generally speaking, amenable to most any genre of music. Naturally you want to impress us with a brilliant track that only a grizzled crate digger would have heard before. But as you’ve heard, this has actually never happened on a Friday Listening playlist so get over yourself and just contribute something.

Answers to questions you hadn’t thought to ask

Should I forward the list to someone?
A: Yes you should, especially if they have awesome taste and will contribute. The best way to do that, is to ask them to sign up for the mail list.

Can i add a track after Friday is over?
A: Of course. Our contributions to Friday Listening will haunt us for the rest of the internet as we know it. Or until Apple/Google/Nestle buys Spotify and ruin our little party.

Should I drop everything and add a track now?
A: Yes.
