Stories

Barranco is a land of stories, a place where memories can come back to life again and again no matter what. And though some people think they know Barranco like the back of their hand; the truth is that there’s always more to discover. There are always more tales waiting to be unravelled.

In the poetic district, faces say it all. Wrinkles telling millions of touching stories, eyes moving you like no other thing, and smiles constantly contagious.

Always, next to “Garito’s” (pub), a man stands looking out into the horizon, waiting for someone whom he can speak to about his past. Telling stories is part of his routine, and helping others is something he loves to do.

In the plaza, a hard-working, proud and dignified lady in green roams everyday, making sure the grass in the gardens is well treated by her caring devotion.

At all times, selling barquillos, a man finds himself next to the tranvia. Working, non-stop to find his way through life with the goal of becoming a successful engineer.

This is Barranco, the place where you find yourself constantly surrounded by the powerful stories of its locals. You can find them everywhere, from the engravings on the cathedral’s walls to the most miniscule keyhole on a locked door of the worn down houses. Everywhere stories lay hidden waiting for you to find them and bring them to light.
