Fortnite Creative mode simplifies a lot of the moving parts when it comes to game development and turns them into easy-to-use tools. This means that anyone can start making amazing original content and see it represented in the world of Fortnite! The tools are designed to be simple and intuitive, and they use the same controls that you and millions of other players already know.

HOW TO USE THE GAME

As a first step, I ask my students to play the Battle Royale mode alone (at least two matches), follow the players who defeat them, and observe their opponent’s gameplay to gather best practises. I group them in multifunctional teams of three members and ask them to execute the following tasks while in their group:

1. Together, the group plays Fortnite as a team (at least three matches), trying to harness the strategies that they have learned online.
2. Finally, conduct a group class presentation (10 minutes) about the group battle report and reflections on the main highlights of what they learned
3. Together, seek additional information and suggestions on how to play Fortnite on a) Reddit.com related channels (at least 20 threads of interest); b) Twitch.tv related live streaming (at least three shows); c) specialised websites (at least seven articles). I suggest having each student focus on just one source of materials.
4. Share their own experiences and any potential game heuristics in 20-minute group debriefings..
5. A second round of intragroup sharing about their findings (45/60-minute group debriefings).
