Very interesting article, Anastasia! I totally agree with the importance of experimentation and iteration based on results as the key to building successful UX with chatbots.

I believe that ‘dummy chatbots’ are just chatbots whose expectations weren’t correctly set. Giving users the opportunity to enter any input at any time is risky if not backed by a powerful and accurate NPL.

The way I see it, the current use of chatbots has more to do with Conversational Interfaces where the interface itself allows you to better manage user expectations.
